To Change the Start Menu Default Sleep button to shutdown button like in XP

Control Panel>Power Options
Select the plan which you currently use and select 'change plan settings'
Select 'change advanced power settings'
Expand 'power buttons and lid'
Expand 'start menu power button'
There will be 2 options :- sleep and shutdown. Select what is appropriate.



Add Run Command To Vista start menu Like in Xp

Right click on Vista start menu orb>properties
select start menu tab. Select start menu > customize
Tick 'Run Command'



Delete A Dial-up or network connection in Vista

Right click on network icon in tray> Network and sharing centre
Select 'Manage Network connections' from 'Tasks'
Delete or Edit what is needed.



To Remove Shortcut Arrow For Icons in Vista

Run Regedit using RUN command or pressing Windows+R
Navigate To HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile
Delete the key "IsShorcut"
Close Regedit and Restart PC.



To make Vista Look Cooler Using 3rd Party Themes

Download Vista Glazz from HERE
Install and Run.Click on first Icon and patch files. Reboot. This enables 3rd party themes on versions till SP2.
Click on Second icon to patch the Aero theme to make it glass even when maximized.
Download 3rd party themes from sites like http://www.myvistathemes.com, vistastyles.org, www.themes4vista.com/ and copy to Windows\resources\themes
Run them and Apply to see changes.
Note: 3rd part themes cannot be previewed in the theme manager. They can only be applied.


To make Firefox Glass like Windows Explorer in Vista



This Works only in Vista Ultimate with Aero Enabled and with Firefox 3 or above with its default theme.
1. Download Stylish from HERE and Glasser from HERE
2. Install both and Restart Firefox.
3. Backup, then replace dwm-overlay.js in %APPDATA%\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[profilename]\extensions\glasser@sixxgate.com\chrome\content\dwm-overlay.js with THIS
4. Install the stylish glass theme from HERE Copy paste this code into stylish.

Step 3 is optional for a better glass interface.
Installation of Compact Menubar is highly recommended
